GPS Device Causes Bomb Scare

You just knew that this would happen sooner or later.

A Sun Staff article reports that a three square block area and dozens of people in southwest Gainesville, Florida were recently evacuated after the Alachua Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from a woman who reported finding a suspicious device that looked like a bomb on her SUV.

However, the women only called the police AFTER she had already removed and inspected the device from her SUV, AFTER talking to her lawyer, AFTER replacing it on back on her SUV, and AFTER she had just picked up her kids.

The woman told the police she was going through a divorce and the police immediately questioned the woman’s husband. He immediately informed them that he had hired a PI who installed the GPS tracking device on a co-owned family vehicle. The PI was then interviewed and there is no mention of any charges.
