If you know of or you’re looking for a database or list of employees that isn’t here it doesn’t mean it’s not out there. Ask me and I’ll look for it and add it to PI buzz. There are so many government agency directories and salary lists that I can’t keep up with adding them as quickly as they proliferate.

  1. I am looking for current State of Arizona Retirees Pension/Benefits, How come this is not public record ?

  2. Is there a federal law that states community colleges and/or 4 year colleges must publish their employee’s salary information?

  3. I am looking for current State of Arizona Employee Salaries. How come this is not public record. I thought all state position salaries have to be public record. Where can I find this information listed by employee, department, and position.

    Thanks,

  4. The UA database is current as of last year ( I checked based on colleagues of mine and when they were hired).

    This is from the college paper, The Daily Wildcat. I wonder how the Daily Wildcat got the figures.

    Tamara, thanks so much for the info you have provided on obtaining salary information. I am actually asking because a patron was looking for this information. When I didn’t find it readily available I posted for info on your blog. I am an employee at the UA library and work at the information/reference desk.

    Thanks,

  5. A.A.C. R2-5A-105 designates that employees and salaries are public information. The Ombudsman has a guide to public records and could probably get these for you if you didn’t want to make your own public records act request. http://www.azoca.gov/open-meeting-and-public-records-law/overview/. Here’s what the statute states:
    Personnel records are confidential and an agency head shall ensure that except as provided in subsection (C)(3), only the following information about a current or former employee is provided to any person making a public records request under A.R.S. Title 39, Chapter 1, Article 2.
    a. Name of employee;
    b. Date of employment;
    c. Current and previous class titles and dates of appointment to the class;
    d. Current and previous agencies to which the employee has been assigned and the location of the main office for each agency;
    e. Current and previous salaries and dates of each change;
    f. Name of employee’s current or last known supervisor; and
    g. Records that are reasonably necessary or appropriate to maintain an accurate knowledge of the employee’s disciplinary actions, including the employee responses to all disciplinary actions, unless providing this information is contrary to law.

  6. I thought there was a law requiring the publishing of salary information for employees of the state
    of Arizona. If U of A can manage to “publish” their salary information online, then ASU and the rest
    of the state should too. In fact, they used to do that online some time ago.

  7. Tamara, thanks for the information. You can see the Operating Budget for the University of Arizona here:
    http://www.budgetoffice.arizona.edu/budget-reports

    The 2015-16 reports is available in print in the UA library, and posted as an e-document in the UA library catalog. The latest report should be available at the above URL shortly. It seems like Arizona State has less access to this information if you are not on the campus. Thanks for your help, I was inquiring on behalf of a library patron here at the University of Arizona.

  8. The Arizona State University salaries seem to either be from 2010, or won’t load. Is there another place to look for the current budget and employee salaries?
