Florida moves to next phase of implementing electronic court records

The Florida Supreme Court has issued an order in response to Report of the Committee on Privacy & Court Records, designating Manatee County for its pilot project assessing Internet access to court records. The court has also issued standards for current access to electronic records, in part, lifting the moritorium that has been in place.

The Orlando Sentinel quotes court officials who say that some court records will eventually be posted online but which records, the documents that will be included and the target date for putting them on the Internet is likely to remain undetermined until next year.
